either way, it would only be one new fleet type.
There was an Airbus sales rep at the August Flight Standards meeting. He did an entire presentation on the A-350. Kirby said that we are a couple years away from having to decide on a 777 replacement. Airbus is pushing us to take the A-350s now. So Airbus would do anything they could to get us to take delivery of A-350s now, even if it means paying airlines for orders of A-321s so that they could deliver them to us instead.
There is value in a new fleet type, it limits how many planes are grounded for manufacturer or FAA groundings. The 321 groundings at Spirit are likely to force them into BK in the next year.
