Key points:
The Senate Commerce Committee voted 14-13 to reject the retirement age hike after the FAA said earlier this week it would prefer additional research was conducted before Congress raised the age.
- no more details on 'additional research', but if the airline lobbiests keep pushing for it the FAA will likely do it and this could be revisited in the future, or just fade away.

The Senate bill would also approve five additional round-trip flights from Reagan Washington National Airport sought by Delta Air Lines but opposed by other airlines.
- score for Delta! Do any of these go beyond the permiter or just more frequencies to ATL/DTW/BOS/JFK?

The Senate bill prohibits airlines from charging fees for families to sit together and requires airlines to accept vouchers and credits for at least five years
- at least customers get a small consolation. 5 years to use a credit is Yuuuge for some. Will the airilnes restrict more of the discounted fare buckets to not allow credit at all (e.g. Basic Economy minus)?

address a shortage of 3,000 air traffic controllers by directing the FAA to implement improved staffing standards and to hire more inspectors, engineers and technical specialists.
- will it be enough to prevent door plugs from popping out?
