The only reason MAX-10 even exists is due to our initial order. If their order book gets cut in half while going through certification process issues (no real end in sight) it's a guessing game if it makes sense to continue OR cut the losses, convert existing orders to 8/9 (whoever chooses to do so) and start with a clean slate next gen narrow body design (Airbus is already doing that as well).
Is Boeing betting on the wrong horse? We shall see...
