Breeze upgrade requirements
Why is Breeze requiring 121 time in aircraft greater than 41,000 pounds for upgrade? Is Breeze unique compared to other airlines? I don't see the requirment in the regionals. The regionals will count all of your 121 time but Breeze only counts what they call "group two", a/c > 41K lbs. Breeze recruits for "Experienced FO" and will hire pilots with at least 500 of 121 time and then not count it towards upgrade unless the time is "group two". It seems to make it even harder to compete with the regionals that are giving bonuses for pilots with 750 hours of any 121 time. PSA? is paying FO's captains pay if they come with have 750 hours 121 time.
Breeze also requires 500 of Breeze time towards the 1500 total 121 "group two" time to upgrade but that makes sense as does the normal seniority requirment for bid. I can't imagine the A220 is harder to fly than any other regional jet but I haven't flown the A220.
I am curious why Breeze is holding itself out differently. The recommendations of the captains and check airmen seem be a better criteria along the FAA 121 hours requirment.
