No where has it been announced that United plans to take less Max -10’s. My take is United will use these early deliveries of A321’s to replace the domestic 757 flying earlier than currently planned.
they can’t just replace the domestic 757 flying. The 757s are needed for summer seasonal international flying. I never fly 757-200s domestically from Mid April until mid September except for LAX/SFO-EWR and DEN Hawaii. In the winter the only option is to park the fleet for 5 months or fly them domestically.
United cannot replace the 757-200 until there is an international capable aircraft on property (XLR)
