Ran into this recently, and the problem is that you can’t list for the Jumpseat as an OAL on UAL until 1 hour prior to the flight. This required me to wait and check in at the ticket counter 1 hour prior to be able to check my oversized bag. HNL agents were unfamiliar with the process, DEN agents were very familiar. Beware checking a bag at 1 hour prior to the flight it might not actually make it on the flight (had this happen one direction).
Workaround I was told that works is to create a listing for nonrev in ID90, so you can check your bag greater than 1 hour prior, then once at the gate check in for Jumpseat at 1 hour prior and have them transfer your checked bag to your Jumpseat listing (and then cancel your nonrev listing).
YMMV
