All I can say is I’m sorry about this. Customer service agent was completely clueless, but with an attitude…. We fought for one of the easiest JS experiences for OAL as possible by having no requirement to list online. This appears to be a weak spot in our process. Please file a report with your airline’s JS coordinator/committee so they can in turn report this to our JS committee through the proper channels. Our JS committee can address with the company promptly this way.
Workaround I was told that works is to create a listing for nonrev in ID90, so you can check your bag greater than 1 hour prior, then once at the gate check in for Jumpseat at 1 hour prior and have them transfer your checked bag to your Jumpseat listing (and then cancel your nonrev listing).
YMMV

Right up to the point where the gate agent won't list you because 'you have to do it online'...and the website is choking. Id rather be able to do either, but we just can't seem to pull that off.

I’ve had those glitches before, but it’s pretty rare. I’m OAL 90% of the time to work. I’d love it if we all could do something like B6 does for OAL.

Same, but it's happened more often than traveling OAL JS with a checked bag. Every system has its shortcomings...changing to another isn't a panacea. The OP presented one of the known shortcomings and the focus should be on helping them (& others) deal with it.
