The preference to subtract one day from your availability is only in the "First to fly" template, along with the ability to reduce your RAW bucket from 2 to 1, if that situation applies. It is not available in the "If needed to fly" template.
To add to these…. The “reduce Raw Grouping”
only works from RAW bucket 2 to 1. Once you are RAW group 3 it’s useless.
And, there must be +1 in your original DoA grouping than the number of trips in your original grouping. IOW, if you at a 4-day pilot, there has to be one additional 4 pilot if there is a 4-day trip in OT (presumably so they don’t waste their ‘only’ resource on a shorter trip).
