Sure things are not so well at Pinnacle with the contract issues, then again not every regional is safe from our economy, pilot groups, etc. But come on man...
Thanks for all the info from the other guys, as well. I am thinking of eagle too since I could live in DFW without the commute. I have gotten to know many Pinnacle pilots and have friends that work there and absolutely love it.
Have you checked to see if they also keep whips and latex in their closet? If they love it here they must have masochistic tendencies.
Spooled is bitter about Pinnacle. So am I. While I don't always agree with everything he posts, you asked for advice and he gave it to you. Don't criticize him for sharing his honest opinion with you.
I would not come to Pinnacle until we get a contract. It is just too bad right now and the longer we go without a contract, the worse it is going to get. There are some good things about being here but the negative far outweighs the positive. That will change once we get a new contract but for now, my advice is to stay as far away from this place as possible.
One final point to consider; We have authorized a strike by a 99.39% majority. I believe this is the highest strike authorization vote in ALPA history. Ask yourself two questions:
1) How bad does it have to be for 99.39% of pilots to vote to strike?
2) Do you really want to risk being a new hire or probationary pilot when we walk? Probationary or not, you would be expected to walk just like everybody else.
