Thats the only leverage we have and the odds are not in our favor. We have almost zero leverage right now. Flying is covered and hiring is covered. Attrition is down due to the legacies slowing hiring and new hires are now in training contracts and don’t have enough total time to leave for a legacy. We have 30+ planes of growth in 2025 that can possibly help our position but we can’t even fill the planes we do have with passengers now. I’d expect deferred deliveries next year and a contract realistically middle to end of 2026 if we play our cards right.
I refuse to think these guys will defer any aircraft. They already extended the 8 year leases to 12.
I also think that as soon as Boeing gets their crap together (big if) the legacies/sw will hire in big numbers again next year. Boeing is the only reason there's been a slow down. Summer slow downs are normal for all hands on deck summer schedules.
