"This new order will bring Continental’s firm commitments for new aircraft to 88 (20 Boeing 787s, two Boeing 777s and 66 Boeing 737s). The first of the 20 Boeing 787 aircraft is scheduled for delivery in 2009, and the first additional 737NG will be scheduled for delivery in 2008."


That is good news... Even if the -800 replace all the 300's that means a 18 airframe net gain before you talk about the 787s or 777s.

I dont see the 767s going away to quickly simply because the are all still pretty much newer airframes.
Nothing makes a new-hire happier than more airplanes.
