Is the company really going to furlough pilots over a temporary shortage of airplanes? We are flying a record number of flights and pax this summer even with the reduced deliveries. They just recorded their highest Q1 revenue. Ever. In 50 years.
They will try to negotiate half pay lines which I hope the union crushes and then they will offer short term LOAs which they can do under the current contract. Back in 2014-15 they did LOAs during slow months. Some folks took them.
If this was some sort of long term dire situation I would be much more concerned. It isn't. I get where the company is coming from, I would try to hoodwink the pilots too. We are expensive. I'll take my green bar and time off.
how much of a green bar for LOA is typical?
