That's the attitude that keeps things on the march down. Pay, bennefits and everything else that is supposed to come with this industry have been slowly eroding for decades.

What all of you new guys need to realize is that there's more to it than just being happy to have a job. Ask your captains about what they had to do to get where they are. Take a look at the payscales. It's much easier to lower the standards than it is to raise pay. Many have given a ton in recent years with a promise from management that the concessions would be returned once the hard times were over. Now the same management is crying about fuel and stuffing their pockets.

F-28 captains at Piedmont in 1986 were making $130 an hour plus. Not bad for a 56 seat jet. Think about that.

Complaining on here doesn't mean that I don't go to work with my uniform pressed, and my shoes shined. If anything, demanding more shows the respect I have for this profession. I have a job to do, but I refuse to sit around and wait for it to get better.
