true in our industry and along with several other industries as well. theres some industries out there that are a lot worse off than ours. for example, in my hometown there's a gm plant that builds 10 mpg chev suburbans and tahoes. they nixed one shift and theres talk about closing down the whole plant because no one is buying these cars. theres several other companies in the area that supplement the gm plant such as lear corp which makes dashboards and other plastic parts. they just laid off several people........ripple effect continues. that is just one example. hopefully it will all turn around.

If you wanted anyone to take you seriously you should have taken "ASA New Hire" off of your position.

Dude, this thread is a breath of fresh air. I love my job, but SO many people in this profession are their own worst enemies.

Especially the ones who vote to relax scope then whine that their flying is being stolen by the regionals.

The exact response I expected to hear.

My point then is why would you bash someone in the position that you someday hope to be. IF/When you get to the other side you will be just as p!$$@3 that decisions made prior to you getting there might affect your job security. Hindsight being 20/20 some groups never thought it would go so far.

Well, when/if that time comes, we'll see what my attitude is. As for now, I show up at work in a good mood, enjoy my job and the people I work with, and am nowhere near ashamed to say I love working at SkyWest Airlines.

With that, I am done on these forums.
