We have under 30 planes, so running one or two near empty is not worth it for us. It’s frequency (or lack thereof) of flights here. Regardless, it works and has been working here. Just let corporate do what they do, and we do what we do and everything works out.
Breeze has made major changes to the business plan since the concept started. Something is clearly not working or the changes would not have occurred. Have they found a business plan that is currently working is the important question. In the extremily positive airline yield market we currently have they should have excellent numbers. Clearly they have not met any past financial projections.
The reason many from other airlines dislike Breeze is that their stated intention from the start was to redefine airline wages. Had they succeeded in doing that it would have had a very negative impact on all airline employees. Obviously their concepts on how to gut their employee costs somewhat failed however they still enjoy a tremendous wage advantage over most other airlines. I note the hourly wage for Breeze is often posted but that is only half the story. Work rules and soft pay are critical to a pilots long term career/earnings and Breeze has virtually zero in both categories.
