Yeah but that's another call to make during preflight when they could just put it on CPDLC. Same as "departure frequency see SID". Just lazy ATC. I am tired of the prevailing attitude within ATC these days that anything we request is a courtesy and they just have to do the bare minimum. The attitudes are horrendous.
I don’t mind “dep freq see SID” as long as that’s the frequency they’re actually using. Nothing more fun than departing ATL and hearing nothing for a couple minutes and then frequency hopping looking for departure.
