Idk, but at United hubs United and their regionals request push via ACARs so that the frequency isn't congested with tons of planes calling for push. Works great. Delta will probably have this technology in 20 years.
If you dig into the ACARS, you’ll find requests for Req Push & Req Taxi. NWA guy told me that they used it in DTW.
So it’s worse than you think. They gave the tech, they just don’t use it. Because reasons.
