CMP reserve seems ideal for someone that has a long commute (ex. living overseas) and doesn't have the seniority to bid a line to compress their schedule reliably. I'd like to know whay they perceive as the downside. Granted the tradeoff is unlimited short call conversions, assigned 30 hour rest blocks for legality, etc. as would be expected.
CMP schedule doesn’t guarantee a string of 12/13 days off for the pilot… what it does guarantee is ONE stretch of 18 days of reserve availability for the company. I agree with the idea that this schedule in theory could benefit an overseas commuter… but how it’s been assigned last two months doesn’t reflect a one string of days off like it has worked in GUM… all the pilots in my BES assigned CMP had their days off broken up into two segments… one of them 9 days and the other 3.
