Sort of. Keep in mind a DH only duty period is not an FDP and therefore legal. “No pilot shall begin an FDP etc”. On the 777 we routinely had 8 day trips that were legal despite not having a 30 hour layover.
If the duty beyond 168 hours was DH, that would be legal. If the trip ended with a FDP, that sounds like a Delta 117 issue similar the automatic FDP extension that they were doing when I started.
Pilots have to have 30 hours of prospective rest before a RAP or FDP.
