Maintenance tech has informed us that CRJ9 Next Gen Enhanced version that XJ flies is about 30% more fuel efficient overall when compared to ERJ175 and these are based on the same destinations CP and XJ flies to.
Shenanigans! I've flown both aircraft, and while the CRJ is certainly more fuel efficient, the difference is marginal. The performance of the two aircraft are similar. As others have said the Embraer numbers seem to be very conservative. I flew the CRJ at Comair who used conservative numbers as well, I'm guessing Mesaba is using the factory numbers?
