I see hard working Pilots that simply want some respect and a little acknowlegment that they play a key role in the great success of this company. They simply want "A little something for the effort".........noething more, nothing less.
We have 4700 frustrated pilots because a large number of them were convinced that ALPA was something that it was not.

I would suggest a resignation would be in order. Just because you want something it does not always happen.

Looks to me that the company is sending a message as to how weak/ineffective national unions are. The pilots are just one of the targets of the message.

Under the FCH nothing was legally binding.
(Granted under bankruptcy, other MGTS have been very successful; at chainsawing contracts.............but we ain't in bankruptcy)
I worked tor Tigers in 85' with the highest paid ALPA pilot group in the country. I was also there in 87' part of the lowest paid ALPA pilot group. Pay does not always go up. When I came to non-union FedEx I received a 100% pay raise. No B fund at FedEx, but no B fund at Tigers either.

Was not quite that simple, but few things were actually changed. I do recall the uproar about the vacation policy change, made it better for 85% of the pilots, but still many were very unhappy.

Is it? Yes we now have the nonqualified plan due to changes in Federal Law. There are advantages to being organized, and some big disadvantages being tied to a National Union's agenda.

My guess is that our ALPA leadership has seen the best offer. Some day they may even allow the membership a peek.
