Your numbers don't add up. Compass is slated to receive 36 E175s MAX. The 18 additional options have NOT been exercised. This means at best Compass will hire additional 80 to 90 pilots from the present roster of around 250 or so. The upgrade has to slow down since no majors are hring right now and not expected to until end of 2008 or early 2009.
Those numbers are pretty close. By December there will be be about 380 pilots on the seniority list for 36 airplanes. The staffing model is for 10 pilots per airplane but there are a dozen or so management pilots and some inefficiencies from having three bases. The top 200 or so will be Captains. Someone hired now would be about 250-260 and there is small attrition (1-2 per month). My best guess is someone hired now would be between 30 and 60 numbers from upgrade once all airplanes have arrived and are staffed. The only problem is after that upgrade is determined entirely by attrition (or new airplanes I guess, but I wouldn't count on that). I think attrition will go up if flow-through is ended, but flow-through would be a better deal for steady attrition if NWA/DAL keep hiring. That's a lot of 'ifs' though.

What do you have to lose if you don't currently have a job?
