You are correct that they can at any point before 1600 have a live scheduler call you and assign you rest starting no earlier than 2 hours after the call, assuming you don’t answer the phone. If you answer the phone the rest can start immediately. But at least for now they are not using a live scheduler to call to assign rest going into a non-golden X day, so your point is moot.
I have gotten the 6 am release call from a live scheduler and the rest started immediately. I know now they use CNO as a crutch but it has happened and could easily again given the push back. A golden X day always gives you 30+ unless you release from a trip after 1800. Nothing I said was inaccurate but since you want the last word, have at it.
