WHO CARES?!?!?!?!

The chief pilot is a mgt puppet. Who didn't know that already? They don't call you and tell you good job. They don't defend you to the upper mgt about a situation that might be questionable. In fact, they're the ones who are probably recommending whatever discipline you get. The most positive they might ever do for you is help you out when you have a family emergency (or get sick yourself) and mail you a 10 yr pin. These actions aren't exceptional, they're what any manager should do at an company.

The system CP is a mid level management position that is not glamourous, achieved through exemplary performance or even indicative of a great pilot. It's a job most people don't want except for those who want to become mgt. All that's required is to a$$ kiss in the invterview. And the pay is crap.

There are great base CPs out there (Vegas has an excellent one) but other than that, i couldn't care less if the system CP, ES or anyone else from the CPO sat across the table in negotiations.
