You can view yield fare for a specific flight using travelnet. I just looked up Heathrow for today out of ATL. Yield fare was $111. That $111 is added to your paycheck as income and you are taxed at your marginal tax rate. So, effectively, it's $40-$60. I think that's basically how it works. I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter where the person sits.
