They are not allowed to collect money, it goes into the general fund, but that's not really a problem with the USPS, that's a problem with congress.
Everything gets more expensive. You offset it by making more money.
I use priority mail all the time, from Alaska, usually 3 days for anywhere in the country, like FL.
