Narrowbodies Destined For The United Fleet In 2025
Boeing and Airbus are set to deliver a number of their narrowbody aircraft to United in 2025, replacing the airline's aging Boeing 737-700 and Airbus A320 fleet. According to the airline's K-10 filing, in 2025, 84 new Boeing 737s will roll off the factory floor and into operation for the US carrier, and 23 new Airbus aircraft will be delivered from across the Atlantic.
From Boeing, 16 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 68 MAX 9 are expected to roll off the factory floor and into operation, and 23 Airbus A321neo are expected to be welcomed from Europe. The A321neo is hotly anticipated to be introduced on slimmer long-haul routes that cannot maintain the widebodies currently required to fly long distances. The A321neo could open up new routes, such as Washington to Marrakesh or Denver to Barcelona, which could not be operated before with a narrowbody aircraft. Currently, no Boeing 737 MAX 10 is expected for United in 2025. However, the airline hopes to welcome its first three variants in 2026.
As is typical with this SimpleFlying, lots of inaccuracies: Luckily with current tariff shenanigans, most of out 321neos are coming from Mobile, Alabama (KBFM), not Europe.

Significantly more than most expected. Interesting that the 737-700 was noted. Take all this FTIW but at least one more perspective.
Has anyone heard anything about the MAXs actually replacing the 737-700s for real? Four -700s seem currently parked, but I assumed MX or cabin retrofits. Not inclined to believe replacement without another source (internal or external)...
