If that’s true, then why are we not hiring and sending planes straight to storage? Somebody help make sense of this
I had heard (from a few people that were at training in vegas this month) that they are not placing new 737 into the schedule now until they are on property and if they have to sit for a few months tell enough pilots are trained to fly them so be it. They are doing this because of Boeing being unreliable as to when and if a plane will come. Also hearing they are looking at selling some of the AB because the used market is so good they can make money on some. Sounded like we might be looking at 1 for 1 replacement at best for next year may even sell more AB then we take on 737's. I guess the new move is to shrink the fleet to push up utilization vs push up utilization on the fleet. They were also told that we are overstaffed and the company is hoping some more pilots would leave especially visa pilots.
