They are doing this because of Boeing being unreliable as to when and if a plane will come. Also hearing they are looking at selling some of the AB because the used market is so good they can make money on some. Sounded like we might be looking at 1 for 1 replacement at best for next year may even sell more AB then we take on 737's. I guess the new move is to shrink the fleet to push up utilization vs push up utilization on the fleet. They were also told that we are overstaffed and the company is hoping some more pilots would leave especially visa pilots.
I thought allegiant had a surplus of trained 737 pilots, something like 100 plus pilots already typed and trained just waiting for more aircraft.
