First of all I don't think your assertion you lose the strike threat is true, but even if it is, that is only a bad thing if you assume we will always have a he upper hand in negotiations like we did last round. Most negotiations, if my history is correct, the pilot group would have loved to be able to say that they were guaranteed raises and there was nothing the company could do save bankruptcy. Locking in our current contract/buying power as a minimum starting point for any negotiations, forever, would be both an incredible amount of leverage when things take a downtown, and an incredible amount of insurance against a negotiating cycle where the company is asking for concessions.
