While that may sound logical, you never ever take the first offer. That’s not how contract negotiations work. This is the very first attempt at a “serious” offer the company had made. They always start low and we always start high, and hopefully we end up at aplace where most of us are happy.
By the way, I haven’t read the company’s negotiations update. I highly recommend not to read their updates. Their coms are designed to be union busters. Divide and conquer, blame the union, pit pilot against pilot. Like your union or not, if you want the best possible outcome, let them speak for you. Ignore the company’s propaganda.
