I’m not talking about a meeting to discuss counter proposals with lawyers. We’ve waited a year and a half for an economic proposal. Now the company finally has one and we hear the details from a secretary in Flight Ops. It wouldn’t take much time (since adjourning last week) for the NC to brief the MEC and the MEC to get ahead of this with a scathing rebuke. The union leadership should’ve had a response prepared for this by now. This was/is the opportunity for a rallying cry but the company got the jump on our NC/MEC.
Why do you think the company wanted to send
out a communication regarding negotiations?

I think the company was nervous and wanted to try to get ahead of it and attempt to divide the pilot group.

IMO, it was be strategically beneficial to watch the company tie the noose around their neck before the union said anything.
