And just like all negotiations, some changes will affect individual pilots disproportionally depending on one's life perspectives and BES. For some, a change can be good for others the same change can defuse their whole bidding/sharp-shooting strategy.

Just as the company has somewhat devalued 18-hour LC by maximizing SC use, pilots have found ways to devalue GFB. I suspect that when they compare data on sick use between the high-GFB time period and the low-GFB time period, they’ll see little difference. If anything, widespread GFB use may result in statistically higher sick use.
Fighting IMSAFE and state sick law is a losing battle in today’s industry.
