Generally, I’ve found if you want to make 80 hours, you can probably do that in a normal month without too much difficulty. But if you want to make more, you’ll probably need to bid a line. Of course that assumes no GS, so take that into account if they are flowing to your Seniority, as that can change form month to month and season to season.
The math on this scenario is changing as the value of a vacation day has gone up over the years. It's not the slam-dunk-bid-reserve scenario that it used to be.
