I know other people who have gotten some surprise awards more than 1 day out, so it’s not necessarily a new thing. Again, the whole SC bidding process is messed up and irregular. At least the next day award process is a little better, although it is still nebulous as to what order it tries to assign the various start times. This is also why, as someone with decent reserve seniority, I only ever bid for the single start time I want. I don’t trust the process if I layer multiple requests. Junior folks are more hosed as they may have to put in multiple start times since they may not be able to hold their first choice.
