I know the idea is that it allows you to commute in during the first two hours of your SC window, but they can still assign flying to you during that time, right? So, you could turn your phone on and have a trip assignment. So what's the benefit?
To the add to the post above, if you are senior have a junior pilot as top cover that invokes the NC clause, guess who gets the trip if one shows up in that period? Not really fair to the senior pilot, so you might as well invoke it too.
