I’ve had several instances of “debating” with a scheduler over their error. It inevitably leads to a 5-10 minute hold, but when they pick back up with the “we’re removing the trip from your schedule”, you can just hear it in their voice.i don’t know what to call it (defeat?), but it’s definitely the opposite of the confidence they excused when they stood firm on their incorrect point. They never explicitly state they were wrong or apologize for it, but of course the simple fact they are having to fix the error is its own admission. A wick and simple “thank you” from me tends to be there end of the call.
The best was when a scheduler tried to argue with me that there was a contractual rest release at 1800 on your last LC day before a non-golden X day (this affected my 30/168 legality).
Scheduler, after arguing for several minutes: it’s in the contract, would you like me to give you the reference?
Me: yes, I would love to have the reference!
Scheduler after a 5-10 minute hold: we’re removing the rotation and placing you into 30 hours rest right now. Good bye.
Me: thanks, bye!
I know, I know, you all can blame me for the company instituting pre-posted rest… 😆

I wonder if CS ever gets tired of us calling them telling them that they are wrong, when we are the ones that are wrong. How many call do they have to answer and explain stuff to ignorant pilots.
Some guy on FB today was ranting on FB today about all the PB days he was getting screwed out of by CS because he doesn't understand how PB/PR days are applied.

Here's a question for the hive. A carry out 5 day silver slip into a RES month with...
REG/ X X X LC
and the same trip with...
REG/ LC LC LC X
how do they pay? what PBs are due? (assume a release after 1500)

AND... vice versa. The impact is felt by pilots in there pay so they could be wrong but if they are, then they are corrected. When is the last time a pilot impacted a schedulers pay? NEVER. Both can and are wrong on occasion. Talking to people like they are in the room with you as a human being is the key. I lead with questions not demands. YMMV

1st example: Pay NO credit for Block plus MU, plus DH plus minutes under (or MCD if that is less than 2:30) per day for first 3 x days. Pay AND credit for last day (including credit that was not part of 1st 3 days). 3 PB days, with the 72 hours of PB being applied starting at Release + 9 hours.
2nd example: Pay AND credit for Block plus MU, plus DH plus minutes under (or MCD if that is less than 2:30) per day for first 3 LC days. Pay AND credit for last X day (including credit that was not part of 1st 3 days). PB day with cover the rest of that last x day, then a PR on the next LC day based upon 24 hours after your release + 9 hours.
Remember, Pay NO Credit is the phrase that pays

Double pay Block plus MU, plus DH plus minutes under (or MCD if that is less than 2:30) for the Regular days for both trips. Plus:

Reserve GS/SS with LC at the end of the trip are not the best idea, unless the trip is driven by block hours only, and the block on the x day portions of the trip are over 5:15 per day average.
Clear as mud?
