Yes once the SC period starts a simple check of your icrew schedule is all that is required but if you are more than 2 hours from the airport you’ll want to end your NC status before the SC starts since you can’t make it to the airport by 2:00 if you check your schedule at 0:01 and see an assignment.
That is a very interesting (and very specific) scenario.
If I gather what you are saying, you would be using SC NC, but making yourself "promptly available" before the SC even began.
