Here is the problem I see with that: it’s inverse
assignment. In theory, you aren’t supposed to be able to jink out of it. IMO, you don’t volunteer for an assignment. Having ARCOS ‘tag’ the most Junior pilot who want it is 100% NOT how it is supposed to work. Juniority shouldn’t be an advantage.
Further, they use IA way too easily and often. I know you guys on the sched committee are hard at work chasing down all the affected pilots, but it shouldn’t be that way.
There
has to be a mutually beneficial way to crack this nut that honors seniority, saves them triple pay, and saves us needless 2am phone calls and STS cases. IMO, batch sizes are the way, with guardrails. I will forever be ****ed at DH for giving a
massive value away for
nothing. But I think the company can be made to see why batch sizes are actually a good thing.
