That’s the problem. Past practice was actually not in agreement with how the SRH spelled things out. The company just did it out of laziness/lack of knowledge. Now they’ve shifted procedure to match SRH language. ALPA can’t fight it because ALPA and the company agreed to the SRH language however many years ago. We can’t argue past practice when that practice wasn’t in compliance with agreed upon language.
