Only hiring knows what traits they were keying on. They seemed to have found the sweet spot for causing dissent in the crew force and a way to save a lot of $$$
so…no other airline was hiring…yet FedEx dropped their minimums with thousands upon thousands of qualified apps on file during COVID? huh…….
since I’m a covid hire I only hear what things were like in the 90s. I’ve heard (and flown with) about the postal contract hires. I’ve also heard of folks getting hired on here and leaving for the legacies (wonder why?) and when 9/11 hit, purple wouldn’t rehire them (folks who told me this story seemed to feel superior to their peers who were furloughed, kinda like when everyone was warm and fuzzy when some left tons of seniority behind at a legacy to come fly for purple during Covid, really rallied the troops that they were at the right spot).
only from what I’ve gathered, not my experience, FedEx wasn’t the place to be until the lost decade hit.
