However I have found that you can get a whole lot of positive info from real discussions with real pilots vs the LMS stuff (and yes there is a lot of good info in various places). I never "hated" the in person day of CQ. One year we actually had some ATL controllers do a presentation. Very good, and impossible to replicate with some LMS module.

I chuckle that you say "what PTC group dreamed this up." Other pilots were saying the exact same thing years ago--when we got RID of the in person day of CQ.
Totally fair to withhold judgement till more is known. And in general I don’t have a problem with the first time upgrade “leadership” course. But looking at the horizon of doing this course every 5 years for 20+ years how much new info is going to be taught on “setting the tone.” If as a captain, in five years of this gig, you haven’t found a way to set a tone that your crew can perform in, a two day story time and company koolaide session is not going to help.

I find sims and line checks that naturally become tailored to me are very useful, I’m not hating on in person training. And I would probably dislike it less if it wasn’t going to force us all to travel to VA Ave, I think that’s the kick in the shorts too far for me.
