Just to be clear time always works for management not pilots. Management loves time! The Delta deal was a classic of time. Delta pilots settled for less than 20% of what they opened for and they took absolute peanuts for the first 3 years of the contract. The cost to the company for the first two years was virtually nothing. Two 4% non compounding not pensionable bonuses. The third year a 12% bonus. For 3 years management had zero increase in work rule costs, retirement and insurance. Once signed the raises seem nice but averaged back to the amendable date were a single not a home run. Managements love time.
On top of this being during COVID…their contract still blew the contract here out of the water, pre negotiations.
You are right though, they do love time, especially when they’ve got a pilot group that is as divided as this one is.
