I know that we as pilots do not have the "big picture" behind our management being interested in XJT but what I know is that with the limited info that is available for anyone out there the deal did not look good for Skywest at all..................

Come on guys it’s really not that difficult to see. By XJT staying independent, they can trim away branded and explore other options. Think about it, if they stay independent and close branded they furlough 400 and without branded they become a profitable operation....at least for now. Maybe they negotiate a cheaper CPA with CAL, maybe they don't. Time will tell.

As for why Skywest was interested.....NEWS FLASH. Delta and United are planning and will follow through on MAJOR cutbacks to their regional operations in the next 2 years. You skywest guys just don't understand that the two operators that you're flying for are planning to cut back the most on domestic regional ops. Man I'm sure you guys all feel so safe right now. Pick up a newspaper once in a while. SKYW is interested in XJT because they will need some other contracts and fast in the next year or so.
