Checking your schedule via DBMS (iCrew) is also an approved way.

If you check schedule after setting the brake via iCrew and there is an acknowledgement popup for rest 45 days from now, can you ignore it and claim not notified during the pre-release schedule check? I suppose that's what I'm getting at.

Granted I've never seen this pre-posted rest myself, but in my experience, any VRU notification coincides with a popup in iCrew requiring a PIN entry. If this PIN entry isn't happening, then I'm firmly in the camp that this is absolutely NOT notification.
If you get a pop up then I can’t see how you can argue that you weren’t notified, regardless of how far in the future it’s for.
