There are several ways to determine if such an assignment has been made without viewing your schedule (on icrew or micrew) and seeing any future notifications. The easiest places to check are the SC Assignment History to see if you've been given a SC assignment, and the Daily Trip Coverage page to see if you have a rotation. You could even have a friend look up your schedule and send you a screenshot.

As others have said, when you view your schedule in icrew, any future rest assignments in that bid period would have to be seen, and I don't see a way to argue that you weren't aware. Future bid period rest periods can remain unknown until you either choose to self acknowledge or are required to view your schedule on a post-rotation schedule check, or a scheduler calls to properly notify you. I haven't tried using the IVR to see if it notifies you of a future rest in the current bid peiod, but I'd assume that it would.
Simply viewing your schedule in iCrew does not equal notification of rest, except for the mandatory post-rotation schedule check on reserve.
