Still doesn't add up. First of all....any F9 base is also a base at 1 or more of the 3 legacies. Second...upgrades at the legacies are running around 3 yrs so unless you are older than 57 or so it makes little sense to stay, even as a 10+ year CA. It pains me all the ignorance against those who didn't leave during the "big dig" esp in 2022-23 when one didnt need either TPIC or a 4 yr degree while know-nothings were shouting about the next recession that never came. Someone hired in late 2022 would already have over 4000 (20-25%) pilots under them at any of the big 3.
Even leaving now absolutely makes sense. I mean.....just UAL alone is going to hire 2000-2500 in 2026.
And forget the pay.....just the work rules alone will offset the sacrifice of 1st or 2nd year pay as a legacy FO. For example...a 3 day 35 hr TAFB EWR-BOG at the legacies that leaves late and returns early will pay 15:45 vs 10:30. Not to mention typical 10% profit sharing, and 1/1 add pay for 10+ hrs of duty etc.
“Forget the pay”…immediately talks about pay.
