I have not had the pleasure of working hybrid or mixed lines, so I am not intimately familiar with their quirks, but expecting to not be called unless you are that ultra-senior person on a long list of more junior pilots is a choice, and if they are uncomfortable with the consequences then they need to re-evaluate their risk tolerances.

my comment regarding mixed reserve being a terrible thing was more along the lines that those pairing should be available in open time to start the month and not assigned to reserves. When most of our reserves in HNL don’t break guarantee it’s just giving the company free trips with no benefit to the pilot group.
