You are 100% incorrect with your statement as the right seat will for sure have no problem being filled with pilots 55 and older, easily.
The math is simple:

From merger announcement on 12/3/2023

2 years for JCBA
1 year for SLI
5 year fence
2 years after age 63 you can’t switch equipment

Keep in mind that in two days we reach the start of year 3 since the merger announcement. Extending the timeline further.

The only variable is fences. Personally I think 5 years is incredibly favorable to the AS group and they will be much longer. Everyone has a theory on that one except the 3 arbitrators. It will ultimately only be determined by them.

You’re assuming that a captain will downgrade to be an FO on the 787? I could see some senior FOs making the switch before fences come down. That would be the only exception.
