I suppose my question is (and I know none of this is an exact science), how long would one of you guess I would wait before 737 CLT would be available? The next question is about upgrade: does your eligibility for upgrade depend on a certain number of hours on type? And how long are you locked on type?
Thank you!
1000 hours at AA is min required for CA upgrade which should be very achievable with 1 yr seat lock and 1 year likely withhold. Currently, junior CLT 320 CA slotted for March 2026 is 12,5xx and junior CLT 737 CA is 11,2xx. The 320 bid status is currently much larger (660 Airbus to 230 Boeing in CLT) which is why 320 is junior in CLT and has new hire drops). You'd have time to swap fleets as an FO if desired while you wait for a CA slot. Upgrading to captain should allow you break a seat lock if you swapped from CLT 320 FO to CLT 737 FO.
